Our mission is to connect patients with qualified medical professionals through seamless virtual consultations via chat, phone, and video calls. We understand the importance of protecting your personal information and are committed to handling it with care.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you register for our platform, we may collect personal information including, but not limited to your name, date of birth, contact details, medical history, payment information, and location. We may also collect information about your device and how you use our platform.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to provide healthcare services, process payments, communicate with you, and improve our platform. This includes matching you with appropriate healthcare providers, scheduling appointments, and providing medical advice or prescriptions. PHYSICIAN CONDUCT
Chatdoc takes great care in screening and selecting the physicians who provide telehealth services through our platform. However, we cannot control the actions of these independent healthcare providers, nor can we guarantee that they will always act in a professional and appropriate manner. In the unlikely event that a physician engages in misconduct or provides substandard care, Chatdoc cannot be held liable for their actions. We make every effort to ensure that all physicians meet our high standards, but ultimately, they are not employees of Chatdoc and we cannot be responsible for their individual conduct.
PRODUCT QUALITY AND EFFICACY
Chatdoc partners with reputable chemists and manufacturers to provide high-quality diagnostic kits and other healthcare products to our patients. While we take reasonable care to ensure the quality and reliability of these products, they are supplied by third-party manufacturers, and certain factors may be beyond our control. If you receive a damaged or malfunctioning kit, please contact the manufacturer directly using the contact information provided with the product. We encourage you to report any issues to Chatdoc so that we can document them and work towards enhancing our offerings or revisiting our choice of suppliers if necessary.
Your rights and recourse concerning any issues with the products are governed by the terms provided by the manufacturer, based on the information we have made available. We recommend reviewing the manufacturer's terms and conditions for further assistance.
DOCTORS REGISTRATION
By registering as a healthcare provider on the Chatdoc Telehealth platform, you acknowledge and agree that Chatdoc grants you access to its platform for the purpose of providing medical services to patients. You agree to comply with the following policies and procedures:
LEGAL STATUS
- Independent Contractor: You are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, or partner of Chatdoc. Your relationship with Chatdoc is solely for the purpose of providing medical services to patients through the platform.
- Licensing and Registration: You represent and warrant that you are duly licensed and registered to practice medicine in Nigeria and hold a valid practicing license issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). You are responsible for maintaining all necessary licenses, certifications, and registrations throughout your association with Chatdoc.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
As a healthcare provider on the Chatdoc platform, you agree to adhere to the following principles:
- Patient Autonomy: Respect the patient's right to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
- Beneficence: Act in the best interest of the patient by providing high-quality, compassionate care.
- Non-maleficence: Do no harm. Exercise due care to avoid errors, negligence, or causing harm to patients.
- Justice: Provide fair and equitable care to all patients, regardless of their socioeconomic status, location, gender, religion, or other factors.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable Nigerian data protection laws.
- Professional Boundaries: Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients, avoiding any personal or romantic relationships.
- Cultural Competence: Respect and be sensitive to the cultural and religious beliefs of your patients, providing care that is culturally appropriate and respectful.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest advancements in telemedicine and healthcare.
- Abuse of Authority and Misuse of Information: You must avoid any abuse of authority or misuse of information. This includes ensuring that you do not exploit your position for personal gain or engage in any behavior that could compromise patient trust.
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND COMPLIANCE
Chatdoc reserves the right to conduct quality assurance checks, record calls, and participate in discussions between doctors and patients to ensure that our terms and conditions are being met and that high-quality care is provided. You are expected to cooperate fully with these quality assurance activities.
LIABILITY FOR NEGLIGENCE
You are solely responsible for any malpractice claims, errors, omissions, or negligence arising from your medical practice on the platform. If your negligence or misconduct has an impact on Chatdoc or its patients, you may be held liable for any resulting damages or losses.
PHARMACY/CHEMIST REGISTRATION
By registering as a pharmacy/chemist on the Chatdoc platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
DEFINITIONS
- Pharmacy/Chemist: A licensed establishment, as defined by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, engaged in the compounding, preparing, dispensing, and selling of medicines and other pharmaceutical products upon medical prescription or otherwise, and providing related pharmaceutical services.
- Chatdoc: A telemedicine platform connecting patients with accessible and affordable healthcare providers, including pharmacies/chemists.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Independent Business: You are an independent business owner and not an employee, agent, or partner of Chatdoc. Your relationship with Chatdoc is solely for the purpose of providing customers with access to Chatdoc's services, as well as offering medications, test kits, and other related products, if required.
- Licensing and Registration: You represent and warrant that you are duly licensed and registered to operate a pharmacy/chemist in Nigeria. You are responsible for maintaining all necessary licenses, certifications, and registrations throughout your association with Chatdoc.
- Platform Access: Chatdoc may grant you access to its platform for the purpose of offering pharmacy/chemist services. You agree to comply with Chatdoc's platform policies and procedures.
- Fees and Payments: Chatdoc will provide you with information regarding fees, payment terms, and payment schedules. You agree to comply with Chatdoc's payment terms.
- Product Listing: Where applicable and to the extent possible, you are responsible for accurately and truthfully listing products and services on the Chatdoc platform.
- Order Fulfillment: You are responsible for the timely and accurate fulfillment of all orders placed through the Chatdoc platform.
- Telepharmacy Services: In providing telepharmacy services, please ensure compliance with relevant Nigerian regulations and guidelines.
- Data Privacy: When handling patient information, please adhere to Chatdoc's data privacy policy and applicable Nigerian data protection laws.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
- Product Liability: You are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and efficacy of all products and services offered through your pharmacy/chemist on the Chatdoc platform.
- Professional Advice: You are responsible for providing accurate and appropriate advice to patients regarding medications and other healthcare products.
- Third-Party Services: Chatdoc may use third-party services for delivery, payment processing, or other purposes.
- Negligence and Responsibility: You acknowledge that any negligence, failure to act, or failure to fulfill obligations related to the provision of pharmacy/chemist services on the Chatdoc platform is solely your responsibility.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
You must comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, regulations, and standards governing pharmacy practice, including those issued by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
DRUG CONTROL
You must adhere to the provisions of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Act and other relevant drug control laws.
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
You must conduct your pharmacy business in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Pharmacists in Nigeria.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through arbitration in Bauchi, Nigeria, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap A18 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the rules of the Nigerian Institute of Arbitration.
CHANGES TO THIS STATEMENT
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the revised statement on our platform.
